Residence Life Mission Statement

Living in a Residence Hall

We are pleased that you have selected Spalding University to pursue your educational goals and welcome you to Spalding University Residence Halls.  The Spalding Residence Life experience provides opportunities to challenge you in the areas of leadership, social, personal, physical, and spiritual development.  You will receive personal attention from your Resident Assistant (RA) and from the Residence Life Coordinator in addition to support from the entire Student Development and Campus Life staff.

The Residence Hall Handbook answers many questions you may have concerning the Residence Life Program at Spalding University, and outlines regulations and procedures for all residents of Morrison Hall and Spalding Suites. Questions for which you do not find answers should be directed to your Resident Assistant (RA) or another member of the Residence Life staff.

Residence Life Mission Statement

The mission of the Residence Life staff is to provide a diverse student population with learning opportunities that foster personal growth and improve the sense of community on campus. We accomplish this mission through residential programming guided by six core community values:

  • Academic Success
  • Career Preparedness
  • Community & Diversity
  • Compassion for Self & Others
  • Health & Wellness
  • Independent Living Skills

Resident Assistants prepare bulletin boards each month around one or more of these values and also plan educational and social programs that allow residents to engage in self-reflection and develop community with their fellow residents.
